The icon isn't quite finished yet...I apologize that it's been taking me so long. The busiest time of year for the architect is the month between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

BTW I don't believe I'll make it to WCS this week. I was at work late last night for community service, I'm in Harrisburg all day today and I won't get home till 1 or 2 am. But everyone else should go and have a good time!

Here is a copy of the e-mail that just went out to clarify the upcoming dance schedule:

Hey all! Just a reminder that the Thursday West Coast Swing classes and dance party are still happening every Thursday.
The only night we won't be there is December 27th, (between Christmas and New Years). And we'll start right up again on the first Thursday in January, the 3rd.

The details:
Intermediate lesson: 8:45-9:30pm
Beginner lesson: 9:30-10:15pm
Open to all dance party 10:15pm to midnight

Location: Wightman School Community Building: 5604 Solway St. Pgh, PA 15217
Cost: $5 for either lesson or dance alone $8 full evening

Yes, everyone come and have a good time! Sorry to hear you can't make it M. The icon is looking good though, can't wait to see what the final product looks like. The Thursday night dancing will go with only a one week break over the holiday season. The current schedule calls for our regular lessons and dancing on the 20th and 3rd, but there will be no lessons or dancing on the 27th. So for those of you who are in the Burgh before or after the holidays cone and join us!

Oh! Sadness! I was so excited for about 2 minutes between the time that I saw Thursday West Coast on the calendar on the main page and thought, "I'm going to be in Pgh then!" and the time it took me to find this thread.

Good news everyone, Stephanie has returned to teaching class on Thursday nights! This coming Thursday she will be teaching with her brother Ben, who also happens to be a nationally ranked competitor in west coast swing competing in jack & jills http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gl4--8_JD8w and strictlys. He will only be around for this coming Thursday though since he will be flying back to California shortly after, so don't miss this opportunity to learn from a great dancer. Come join us as we bring in a whole new series of lessons and fun.

We have a new format for Thursday nights

In order to provide everyone with more in-depth instruction that is tailored to their level we will be running an advanced class and beginner/intermediate class simultaneously from 8:45 pm to 10:00 pm. The advanced class will be run by Stephanie in the main gym while the beginner/intermediate class will be run by Sarah and myself across the way in room 305 (a.k.a the practice room, the blues room, etc...). Following the instruction we will still have our normal social dancing from 10pm to 12am. Prices are still the same, $5 for the lesson or the dance or $8 for both. So you receive an additional 30 mins of instruction with the stuff you want to learn for the same great price as before, plus 15 extra minutes of social dancing (yeah, a little cheesy, I know) So for the lowdown....

Beginner/Intermediate instruction: with Brad and Sarah in room 305 from 8:45 pm - 10:00 pm

Come one, come all and join us for another exciting night of west coast swing dancing! For those of you in Sarah and my class remember to bring your video cameras and Sarah and I can provide a recap at the end of class of what we taught so you can practice it easier during the week. The fun starts at our new normal time of 8:45pm for the beg/intermediate lesson and the advanced lesson so there is something for everyone regardless of skill level. Then our social dancing starts at 10pm so you can practice what you learned. See you all there.

Also I told Steph I would post the information for the field trip we are planning to Mad Jam during the first weekend in March. For those of you who missed class last week Mad Jam is a HUGE west coast swing dance event in D.C. with workshops, competitions, and of course social dancing that last all the way into the wee hours of the morning (I usually end up dancing until about 5am and there are still plenty of people on the floor when I go to bed). This is an opportunity to see, learn from, and dance with some of the best people west coast swing has to offer world wide.
